Groom chases thief in Missouri who is running with his and his wife's wedding gifts. The Kansas couple will surely have a weird tale to tell during their wedding day. What is a common celebration turns out to be a running spree as the wedding's groom chases thief in Missouri who was apparently able to take hold of their wedding gifts while everyone was busy with the couple.

According to the Associated Press, the Kansas couple had just renewed their wedding vows a year after their wedding. However, the supposedly normal and peaceful celebration turned out to be a shocker when the groom chases thief in their wedding. The robber was reportedly at the reception and tried to steal the couple's wedding gift there. As the groom saw the robbery unfolding, the groom chases thief while shouting, 'Stop! Thief! Stop!'

The groom who ran after the thief is Jared Lightle of Galena, Kansas. He was outside his wedding reception Saturday after renewing vows with his wife, Stephanie at the Scottish Rite Temple in downtown Joplin when his mother reportedly yelled the thief taking cards from a gift table in the lobby.

Kansas City reports that even as Lightle was still in his wedding clothes - tuxedo, patent leather shoes and all - the groom chases thief yelling. Soon afterwards,his father and brother reportedly joined in the chase. According to Lightle, he saw the man across the street with their wedding cards while he was running after him and yelling at him to stop. As the groom chases thief, the suspect also started running.

Lightle said, 'If we hadn't caught the guy, it would have ended an otherwise perfect celebration on a very bitter note.'

The Joplin Globe reported that the suspect was eventually caught by police who were investigating a nearby traffic accident.

Groom chases thief and suspect who was identified as 31-year-old Rosario Caruso of Lamar. According to the Joplin Globe report, Caruso was charged with trespassing, larceny and resisting arrest.

As Caruso was arrested, the Lightles were eventually left doing their best to match the gift cards and cash with the gift givers.

Meanwhile, after Lightle groom chases thief who was arrested, Lightle was pleased and said that it appears justice will be served.

According to AP, the wedding ceremony Saturday was a renewal of vows for Jared and Stephanie Lightle to mark their one-year anniversary at a courthouse near Fort Hood, Texas.
