Tropical Storm Arthur May 2014: Florida Coast Cautioned about Tropical Storm Arthur May 2014

Tropical storm Arthur May 2014 has just recently been spotted spinning off Florida's east coast. It has been announced to be the 1st tropical storm to hit the USA since the start of the 2014's hurricane season. According to the weather forecasts, it will develop further into a hurricane later this week.

A tropical storm watch has been issued by the National Hurricane Center. This storm watch concerns the Florida coast that covers the area from Fort Pierce and northward to Flagler Beach.

Whenever a tropical storm watch is issued, it means that there is a high probability of forceful winds, along with a fast increase in sea level, paired with very heavy rain. In fact, there could be up to three inches of rain across Florida.

According to the warning provided by the hurricane center on Tuesday morning, tropical storm Arthur May 2014 could quickly progress into a hurricane in as little as 72 hours, particularly as it moves along the southeastern Atlantic coast.

Tropical storm Arthur May 2014 was first spotted approximately 95 miles to the southeastern portion of Cape Canaveral and was starting to drift to a north-westward direction on Tuesday morning. Hurricane experts have initially expected Arthur to resume heading to a western direction, but they spotted a trough of low pressure to come from the west, which is expected to steer it to the north in the next two to three days. Based on this forecast, the storm will also be brushing by North Carolina.

Still, however, the hurricane center has not yet ascertained precisely how close tropical storm Arthur May 2014 will be from the coast. Just to be sure and to keep the people away from harm, they still cautioned those who lived near the southeastern Atlantic coast to keep watching weather forecasts in case there are sudden changes to its movement.

With sustained winds at 40 miles per hour, according to the forecast early Tuesday, tropical storm Arthur May 2014 seems like a minimal tropical storm.
