Sophia Loren has signed a deal with Atria Books for her memoir. Loren is now opening more doors for the public to view how her life has been through a memoir entitled, "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow: My Life as a Fairy Tale."
The publisher has made the announcement on Thursday that the book has been scheduled for public release on the 2nd of December. Loren, 79 years old, will be writing about how she rose from poverty as she survived World War II. Her memoir will be reflecting how she went from rags to riches as she welcomed international stardom.
In this book, she will also be sharing some details about her past relationships with Richard Burton, Cary Grant, as well as with her husband, Carlo Ponti. She was considered as a sex symbol then, and the up-and-down spiral of her love life at the time is something that has piqued a lot of interest.
Loren has been featured in various movies, including "Houseboat", "Marriage Italian Style", and "Two Women". The last movie gave her the Academy Award in 1961.
Despite of the title she chose for her memoir, Loren told Vanity Fair during an interview in 2012 that her life was not a fairy tale at all. She said, "My life is not a fairy tale, and it's painful still to speak about it."
John Cheever, a famous writer, got to interview Loren in Naples back in 1967. This interview was for The Saturday Evening Post, and Cheever did a fantastic job in summing up Loren's persona. He said, "Here is the actress; the slum child; the chatelaine of a great villa; the beauty whose pictures, cut from magazine covers, lonely men carry around in their wallets; and the wife of Carlo Ponti. She brings all this into focus with a shake of her head. She seems sincere, magnanimous, lucky, intelligent, and serene."
