Alysia Montano rocked the Olympics with her performance, but she recently made a shocking step as she joined the 800-meter race in Sacramento, California with a huge belly since she's already 34 weeks pregnant.
First-time moms are said to be very delicate when it comes to having baby and are always reluctant to try something as they are afraid to do things that would possibly harm their baby. Most upcoming mothers often spend a day doing light works and not straining their self too much especially when they are on their third trimester when baby could arrive anytime, but that seems to be not applicable with the Olympian as she decided to run a long road though she's already having that very huge protruding belly.
Unlike other mothers-to-be, Alysia Montano participated to run in a long road just like it's Olympics. The well-known athlete took part in the 800-meter race in Sacramento on Thursday despite of being criticized with her decision since she's not like any ordinary female runner this time due to the fact that she is carrying her first child with husband Louis. In the event, she sported her usual outfit when running and never forgot to put on a flower in one of her ears as her trademark in every competition.
The five-time U.S. champion finished the race in a much slower pace than her usual records. Alysia Montano clocked at 2 minutes and 32.13 seconds which is obviously not her Olympics impressive record, but it is still an exemption as she is pregnant. She even emphasized that what she did that day is not about winning the race, but she just feel like to be there and run.
As the runner made an appearance on Thursday's event, she also said that it made her desire to be back on track and join the race; furthermore, joining the Olympics again. Before Alysia Montano even set a foot on the field, she made sure that it's okay for her to run the race. Her doctors actually approved her participation in the race with a hope of dismissing misconceptions about pregnancy.
The Olympics runner even said that she felt good with what she did on Thursday. Alysia Montano even stated that what's important to her is the joy of racing that she just experienced with her baby inside her womb.
