Lourdes Leon, daughter of music icon Madonna, seems to be following her mother's footsteps. Leon has just enrolled at the University of Michigan, just like her mom did almost four decades ago. The 17-year-old Leon has committed herself to focusing on her studies in musical theater arts and dance and is looking forward to getting a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts.
Madonna attended this very same college in the 1970s after she got her dance scholarship. However, so that she could start her pursuit for a career as a superstar, she had to drop out of college in 1978. Leon, who is more known as Lola, clearly wants to do the same thing, with the only difference that she is actually looking forward to graduating with a degree. Although time could only tell if she might change her decision in the long run.
Leon has just graduated from the highly prestigious LaGuardia High School in New York City. Based on a report from the New York Daily News, Leon was recently included in the cast of the school's production of "Grease." Moreover, she was given a lead role as the leader of the group, Pink Ladies.
Madonna has always wanted her eldest daughter to go to her alma mater for college, and it looks like she got what she has always hoped for. She once told NFL Network in 2012 before she performed for the halftime period of Super Bowl XLVI, "I want my daughter to go to school there. I keep telling her, Ann Arbor is an awesome place."
She even posted a picture of the university's bookstore on her Instagram account and captioned it with, "I think I'll stop in here!" She shows her full support for her daughter by attending the freshman orientation in Michigan with Leon.
