The Great Leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, is not happy with the latest comedy that James Franco and Seth Rogen have come up with. The duo received a lot of traction, especially from North Korea, as the upcoming movie will be depicting a scheme for the assassination of the nation's supreme leader.
The two comedians will be portraying the roles of celebrity journalists who will be interviewing Kim. Since the North Korean government granted them the opportunity to have the interview, the CIA enlists the both of them and recruits them to be part of the assassination plot.
In the movie's trailer, which will be entitled, "The Interview", Franco's character is featured saying, "Want to go kill Kim Jong Un?" Rogen responded to this question with, "Totally. I'd love to assassinate Kim Jong Un - it's a date."
It would seem that the main premise of the film was built on the video files of the media journalists of Vice, who happened to have had various trips to North Korea, and have even brought NBA star, Dennis Rodman, with them. Rogen confirmed that the production crew of "The Interview" made sure that the Vice journalists were consulted first before the movie was pulled into production.
A spokesperson from Pyongyang has made it clear that the North Korean regime does not approve, nor does it appreciate, this kind of comedic storytelling. In fact, the Asian nation finds it offensive.
Kim Myong Chol informed Britain's Telegraph, 'There is a special irony in this story line as it shows the desperation of the US government and American society. A film about the assassination of a foreign leader mirrors what the US has done in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and Ukraine." He later added, "And, let us not forget who killed Kennedy - Americans."
However, Kim Myong Chol has also shared that he is not the official spokesperson of the regime. He also hinted that Kim Jong Un plans to see the movie once it is released on October.
