Apart from biking with brother James, the sporty sibling of Kate is also planning on competing in the 6.5-km Bosphorus Cross-Continental Swimming Race representing the same foundation.
Pippa Middleton said in a statement released by the British Heart Foundation, "I was shocked to learn that nearly three times more women die from coronary heart disease than breast cancer. I'm passionate about raising awareness amongst women of this killer disease and I look forward to working with the BHF to highlight to women the risks of heart disease and importantly, how they can reduce them."
Pippa Middleton and James Middleton are used to long bike rides, with Pippa herself having participated in various charity races in the past. However, this charity race might prove yet more of a challenge as ABC News reports that less than 200 participants have finished the race in its 32-year-history. Riders normally cycle for five to six hours at a stretch and take 25-minute breaks. Asked on The Mail on Sunday about being the only woman and sleeping arrangements, Pippa admitted that she wasn't fazed at all on being the only female in the team. She also said, "Everyone will sleep when and where they can."
