Chris Christie Dancing on Late Night Show Despite Ongoing Bridge Scandal

"When the going gets tough, it's time to get going, not to start joking." was the unsolicited advice that chairman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee, John Currie, gave Chris Christie. Governor Christie, however, decided to neglect this advice and went on with his pre-Father's Day appearance at the internationally renowned comedy talk show, "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."

Not only did he choose to ignore what Currie said, he even took it up a few notches. Showing up on Fallon's show was not enough for him and he had to dance with Fallon on the show's skit "Evolution of Dad Dancing", where he did some classic dad moves, such as "The Passionate Elliptical" and "The Back It Up."

Christie also went offstage in a mock-upset when the "This Bridge is Closed" was played, only to be reeled back in by the beats of Bruce Springsteen, who, in turn, happens to be Christie's idol. Springsteen, on the other hand, was seen on the same show recently, as he spoofed Christie through what they referred to as a "Governor Christie Traffic Jam," a parody to the song "Born to Run."

The Governor was a good sport about all of this and even nailed the dancing dad routine. Politics aside, though, the prize goes to the First Lady herself, Michelle Obama, for her rendition of the "Evolution of Mom Dancing", also with Fallon, from last year's season.

According to the Star Ledger, this is the Republican Governor's first appearance in a late-night show, since the bridge scandal came out. Critics of Christie strongly believe that this appearance of his with Fallon was a wild swing to pout the alleged schemes involved with political retribution behind him.

The scandal broke out in the fall of 2013, and, since then, Christie became a bit of a laughingstock, as he became the gist of every late-night joke.
