The relationship between country singer Jason Aldean and his former mistress-turned girlfriend Brittany Kerr seems to be getting stronger and stronger. Although it may seem like a happy ending for the couple, according to an Us Weekly issue, the downside is that Aldean's kids regard Kerr as "the other woman".
According to a source, "Jason is working Brittany into Kendyl and Keeley's lives, yet they see her as the other woman. It's hard. They're important to him."
At only 37 years old, Aldean raised a lot of eyebrows in September of 2012 when he was photographed making out with Kerr who is only 27 years old. Although age does not matter in relationships today, what shocked the industry of country music was that he was caught kissing the "American Idol" alumnus while he was still married to 34-year-old Jessica Ussery.
It was only seven months after this scandal that Aldean filed for a divorce from his high school sweetheart after a marriage of 12 years. Keely, 11, and Kendyl, 6, are the daughters of Aldean and Ussery.
In reference to the awkward situation that surrounds Aldean, Kerr, and Ussery, the insider has also said, "It's tough for Jessica when they have to spend time with Brittany. She just wants to protect them."
Meanwhile, Aldean is not shy in declaring his statements of love for Kerr. This new couple is usually seen holding hands, and was also very affectionate when they walked the red carpet in Las Vegas at the CMT Music Awards.
The source also mentioned, "Jason is a relationship guy. I can see him settling down with Brittany."
Kerr is a singer and aspiring model who also happens to be a former cheerleader for the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats. She was also part of the contestants of the 11th season of "American Idol."
