Lil’ Kim Gives Birth to “Royal Reign”

Lil' Kim, self-proclaimed "Queen of Rap" could not choose just one regal moniker to name her baby girl, and decided to use two.39-year-old Lil' Kim, or Kimberly Denise Jones to those who know her before her fame, went into labor on Monday at New Jersey's Hackensack University Medical Center and gave birth to a baby girl whom she named, Royal Reign.

Her first pregnancy was announced during the New York Fashion Week in February. She posted an image of an invite to her baby shower on her Instagram in April. It was her way of informing the world that she had a baby on the way.

It was only later that the father of the baby came into the picture, which happened to be New York-based rapper Mr. Papers. Lil' Kim, now the overly excited mom-to-be kept re-tweeting the congratulatory messages she got from celebrity friends and huge news stations.

The baby shower that was held only last month was, lo and behold, royal-themed. Lil' Kim was clearly handing out hints about the baby's name at that time. The event was very extravagant and was held at New York's Broad Street Ballroom.

She talked to In Touch Magazine about the baby shower. "Everything had a royal twist. At the beginning of the party, I was announced as the Queen with two trumpeters and even wore a crown," said Kim. She claimed to have worn a nude dress that was accentuated with lace embellishments. Moreover, to complete the outfit, Kim jazzed herself with ornate jewelries that were worth $500,000.

Seated next to the baby's father, the couple was certainly not shy when it comes to public displays of affection. Royal Reigns is Lil' Kim's first-born, but is Mr. Papers' second child, as he already has a son.

As for work, Kim says pregnancy will not stop her. "I'm still going to work," She informed Us Magazine. "I'm still going to be hardcore. The baby has made me even more of a beast!"
