Melissa McCarthy and husband Ben Falcone were having a lot of fun during the photo shoot for Redbook's July issue, something that was visible on the magazine's pages. They had fun with classic wacky costumes, such as huge Mickey Mouse gloves, red clown noses, and Groucho glasses.
This married couple of 10 years proves that long-term happy marriages are still possible. "We have a great marriage, and outside forces can't really change that," McCarthy told Redbook when asked about her relationship with Falcone. She ended her statement with, "Success doesn't define us, even though we love what we do. The important thing is our family and kids."
Married since 2005, McCarthy and Falcone now have two beautiful daughters, Vivian 7, and Georgette, 4. Their youngest daughter is still oblivious that her parents are celebrities, but their older one is presently starting to catch on. "She asked, 'Are you famous?'" McCarthy recounted. "And I said to her, 'Famous doesn't mean anything. Just because people know my face doesn't mean they know us or that it makes us any more interesting or better.'"
McCarthy sometimes recounts about how she used to behave back when she was a kid, "I see teenagers or people who are 21 and think, 'I was an idiot at that age,'". The "Mike & Molly" star told Redbook, "I was running around New York like a crazy woman. Thank God I only had three and a half cents to my name. I was too immature to handle success then."
McCarthy goes further down memory lane and recalls her not-so-fashionable outfits during her younger years. "I wore white kabuki makeup, had blue-black hair," McCarthy recalled about what used to be her typical every day makeup routine. "At one point I shaved an inch and a half around my hairline and continued white makeup up so it made my head look slightly deformed. I thought it was hilarious. I was in a little town and I just got a kick out of it."
