Oscar-winning actress Halle berry was mandated by the court on May 30 to pay a monthly amount of $16,000 to ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry as child support for their 6-year-old daughter, Nahla. In addition to that, LA Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon also ruled that Berry pay Aubry an amount of $115,000 as retroactive payment and another $300,000 for the legal fees for their custody dispute. Although they were never married, the couple spent five years together, from 2005 to 2010.
The former couple has already discussed about the "splitting" of their daughter's health care expenses, but Berry, presently starring in blockbuster film "X-Men: Days of Future Past", will be assigned for paying Nahla's school tuition. Such payments will continue until their daughter turns 19 years old or when she graduates from her high school, whichever comes first.
It was in 2012 that Berry and Aubry, a 38-year-old French-Canadian model, reached a shared custody agreement with the actress agreeing to pay child support. The court also ruled that Berry cannot, under any circumstances, move the child to France where her then-fiancé, 48-year-old Olivier Martinez, resided, unless Aubry agreed to come with them and transfer, too.
Berry is presently filming in Los Angeles for a new CBS series entitled "Extant", while Martinez has recurring roles on ABC's "Revenge". The two have announced their engagement in 2012 and got married in July 2013, bearing a son, Maceo, who was born on the 6th of October.
Berry's list of failed marriages is relatively long, starting from her midnight marriage with baseball star David Justice in 1993, which was later followed by a divorce. Then, she re-married and divorced singer Eric Benet.
Martinez also has his own share of botched partnerships as he used to live with actress Juliette Binoche in the 1990s and also spent his 2003-2007 years with then-cancer-stricken Australian singer-performer Kylie Minogue.
