California Chrome may no longer be seen in the field after he suffered an injury which probably made him lose against Tonalist.
Belmont Stakes 2014 has been a tough competition between the horses as they race with the Triple Crown on the line. Many of the famous horse supporters were actually expecting that he would gain the title, but it seems like it did not turn out so well for him. California Chrome's failure to get the crown has caused speculations saying that he probably did not make it due to an injury that he's suffering.
This year has been started by California Chrome with the California Cup Derby on January 25 just before the news of his injury was even revealed. The famous horse was then expected to win the recent race when he became one of the contenders to participate. It's been nearly 36 years since a winner has been named to win the Triple Crown.
With a long period of time that a winner has not been named, the race even looks tougher unlike any other race. It was supposed to be the greatest shot for California Chrome to win if he had no injury. According to previous reports, a blood from what appeared to be a cut, was spotted in the horse' right front foot, during the Belmont Stakes. It has been seen by the horse owner when the horse walks back to the barn.
The shiny white foot of the horse has been filled with blood and is believed to cause his defeat. According to California Chrome's trainer, his injury might have been brought by the hustling of horses as they made their way out of the gate. It is believed that the horse cut his foot when it stepped on to something.
The famous horse actually finished fourth in the race. The wound is actually estimated to fully heal after 45 days.
