Towson University’s Cheerleaders Receives Disciplinary Action From Hazing Scandal[VIDEO]

A disciplinary action has been taken after the Towson University's cheerleaders made headlines regarding their hazing activity.

An investigation conducted by the university revealed that the members of the team initiated its newcomers with an unlikely kind of welcome. The report released to The Baltimore Sun after obtaining a public records request contains the documents telling the entire story. New documents of the said incident tell how the Towson cheerleaders were able to execute their hazing to ten incoming freshmen members.

The shocking news of the incident originally came out late last year when an anonymous person came out, but no details were further disclosed at that time. As the new source of information came out, it was known that the new freshmen were invited to an apartment off the campus during the cheer camp. It was also treated how the newcomers were treated when they attended the said event which took place on July 31, 2013.

Officials of Towson University then ordered an investigation regarding the cheerleaders hazing. According to the previous reports, the current members of the team blindfolded the freshmen members as they entered the apartment. It was also reported how all the freshmen under 21 were obliged to either take an alcoholic shot or funneling a beer.

Towson cheerleaders hazing also included the instruction of wearing an adult diaper over the freshmen's shorts. They were also individually asked to perform a brief dance while wearing the diaper in front of the members of the team. The said activity is greatly not tolerated by the university's officials.

In order to discipline the students, the school imposed an action by suspending those cheerleaders involved in the hazing. The women involved were actually banned from performing for the entire 2013-2014 school year, but the sanction was reduced to one semester after their appeal.
