Brad Pitt was accosted by a notorious prankster, Vitalli Sediuk, at the red carpet premier for long-time partner Angelina Jolie's "Maleficent". Days after the incident, Pitt warned Sediuk that he will be "stomped" if he continues with this ill behavior. This was in reference to a similar accosting when Sediuk hid under the skirt of America Ferrera at the Cannes Film Festival red carpet. "I don't mind an exhibitionist, but if this guy keeps it up he's going to spoil it for the fans." Pitt adds, "If he tries to look up a woman's dress again, he's going to get stomped."
Pitt recalls his own incident, "I looked down and the nutter [Sediuk] was trying to bury his face in my crotch." He was able to keep his humor about the incident, hence the "nutter" description, but was still able to leak out a bit of his tough side, "I cracked him twice in the back of the head, not too hard, but enough to get his attention, because he did let go." Pitt turned what could have been a disastrous red carpet walk with "Maleficent" star, Jolie, into a demonstration of his mass appeal.
Proving that he is an epitome of "calm under pressure", Pitt uses this act of notoriety towards Hollywood stars into a PR victory. It is his consistent display of grace that keeps him at the top of the celebrity chain, despite his involvement in some movies that turned out to be flops. His image as a great actor is always redeemed by his succeeding movies, just like his fantastic performance in "World War Z", and in Oscar Best Picture "12 Years a Slave".
Pitt is presently preparing to produce and star in his next movie, a Stanley McChrystal story. This is proof that red carpet weirdness does not deter him at all. Instead, it turns out that incidents, such as this, only helps him with his image.
