Dunkin' Donuts Carbon Monoxide Scare: Long Island Medic Saves The Day

Dunkin' Donuts carbon monoxide scare was prevented from spreading further and endangering the lives of possible customers of Dunkin' Donuts on Friday. According to the Associated Press, the Dunkin' Donuts carbon monoxide scare happened during the wee morning hours on Friday.

A Dunkin' Donuts patron who also happens to be an ambulance technician entered the Dunkin' Donuts store in Carle Place, New York, at around 4 a.m. on Friday. CBS Local reports that the customer was just looking for a quick cup of coffee that morning hour. Luckily, it seems that fate destined him to be at the right place at the right time and with the right equipment.

According to authorities, the Dunkin' Donuts carbon monoxide scare was prevented from carrying on further as the EMT who just entered the store was wearing a personal carbon monoxide detector. When the tech entered the store, the detector went off as well, which meant that there are high levels of the poisonous gas inside the store.

In a report by WAVY, after the Dunkin' Donuts carbon monoxide scare, the technician immediately told the store's employees to get out of their work place. Soon after, the medic notified the local fire department of the Dunkin' Donuts carbon monoxide scare and soon after an investigation was conducted to find out the source of the deadly gas.

According to the results of the investigation, the Dunkin' Donuts carbon monoxide scare began because of a vent in one of the ovens. Nassau cops said that the carbon-monoxide level was reportedly at a very elevated 35 parts per million.

The name of the medic who alerted the store's employees of the Dunkin' Donuts carbon monoxide scare is undisclosed. Fortunately, nobody was hurt because of the quick save.

Dunkin' Donuts carbon monoxide scare came after about just three months from the death of Steven Nelson, a manager of the Legal Seafood restaurant in Long Island's Walt Whitman shopping center. According to NY Post, Whitman died due to being exposed to the toxic gas. The death was reportedly caused by a leaking pipe in a water heater.
