The proposal, even the relationship itself came as a shocker to Scruggs as she doubted being able to find love because of a plane accident a few years ago. Before the story of Jason Kennedy engagement with Lauren Scruggs, according to Hollywood Life, Scruggs lost her left hand and left eye because she walked into a spinning airplane propeller on a Dallas runway three years ago. After the 2011 accident, Scruggs has been all about the positive.

However, because of what happened, Lauren Scruggs, as any other woman would, became uncertain whether she would still find love again.

Scruggs was a former model and fashion blogger, and she wrote in her book of the accident, "Still LoLo: A Spinning Propeller, a Horrific Accident, and a Family's Journey of Hope", "I was sure no guy would ever think I was attractive again, much less would want to marry me.''

Way before the story of Jason Kennedy engagement with Lauren Scruggs happened, their beginning began when E! News co-host Jason Kennedy saw Scruggs interviewed by Natalie Morales on Dateline NBC. Kennedy said on TODAY, "I remember looking up at the TV and saying I would love to marry a girl like that.''

Even before but Jason Kennedy engagement with Lauren Scruggs happened, friends of the two have already been expecting the act, and on Friday, the wish of Jason Kennedy and their friends was granted as the 32-year-old host finally proposed. According to TODAY, he proposed to 26-year-old Scruggs at her apartment in Dallas.

As the event Jason Kennedy engagement with Lauren Scruggs was relayed by Scruggs, she said on TODAY, "I walk in and my apartment is full of tulips, this little like path to the patio. He was outside in the grass, and there were just candles, spelling out 'Will you marry me?' And he was like, 'Will you come down here? I want to ask you a question.' I was just seriously shocked."

Us Weekly reports that Jason and Lauren first began dating back in July 2013, after an interview Scruggs did on E! The couple has reportedly been having a long distance relationship, and are excelling at it. Jason is living in Los Angeles while Lauren lives in Dallas.

After the proposal, Jason reportedly tried to keep his calm while slipping the engagement ring made by Hollywood jeweler Jennifer Meyer that he bought. Kennedy said, "I was crying badly. I got down on a knee, asked her to marry me. Then she got down on a knee, and I put the ring on her finger."

During the proposal and before the Jason Kennedy engagement with Lauren Scruggs was finalized, Kennedy described how he fell in love with Scruggs. He said, "I was just so moved by her and her story, and I thought she was hot, too, so that's always an added benefit.''

Jason Kennedy engagement with Lauren Scruggs is now final, however no wedding date has yet been set. Even as the wedding hasn't happened yet, it is apparent that the story of the couple's engagement is already a happy ending for Scruggs. The friends of the couple are in full support and happy for them both, just like their fans and supporters.

One friends said, "(Kennedy) just loves people well, loves me well,'' she said. "And he's fun and funny."

Another said, "It's an incredible story,'' Kennedy said. "I love her so much, and this is just the beginning for both of us."
