The actor was allegedly punched in the face by a man later on identified as Vitalii Sediuk in the Hollywood premiere of the Maleficent which stars Pitt's longtime love, Angelina Jolie. The event was not just attended by the couple, but their kids were also present in the El Capitan Theatre except for their child Vivienne who plays the role of little Princess Aurora in the film.
A report according to the Associated Press says that witnesses saw that the man jumped off the barrier and rushed towards the actor, touching him briefly before the security guards wrestled him. He was then led away with handcuffs and arrested with suspicion of battery as the actor, who was not seriously hurt resume signing autographs before walking into the theater. Sediuk is currently in custody with a pending $20,000 bail.
