The long wait is now over for "Samsung Galaxy Tab S2" users. You will finally get to enjoy Android 7.0 Nougat because the company has started rolling out the update.

Earlier this year, there have been rumors that the company will roll out the Nougat update to "Galaxy Tab S2," but some dismissed that as mere rumors because the talks died down. However, close to three months after, the announcement they had been waiting for is finally here.

Samsung has clearly not forgotten about some of its older devices. The "Galaxy Tab S2" came out almost two years ago, and second generation ultra high-end tablet models have two variants - the "Galaxy Tab 8.0" and the "Galaxy Tab 9.7" models. Both variants are eligible for the Nougat update, Tech Times said. Device owners took to social media to share the good news. Some shared a photo to prove that their tablets have received the update, and we have not received any reports about any complaints so far.

Phone Arena reported that many users in Germany and Italy reported that they have received the update, so it won't be surprising if users in other parts of the globe would get it soon, too. Based on these reports, the first ones to get the update are the Wi-Fi only "Galaxy Tab S2 9.7" (model number SM-T810), and the LTE-enabled "Galaxy Tab S2 8.0" (model number SM-T715.)

The Nougat update will give users quicker multi-tasking capabilities with the multi-window feature, improved Notification feature, and Quick settings button. Once you update, expect your tablet's overall performance to improve. Also, expect for quicker installation of apps once you have updated to Nougat.

The Android 7.0 Nougat update gives battery-saving modes. This includes a "maximum" power-saving mode that disables your device's higher functions. To know if your "Galaxy Tab S2" already has the Nougat update, go to your Settings menu to check.
