Tall Ship Cruise Line Announces Its First Sailings To Grand Cayman And Jamaica

In another expansion of a smaller cruise line, Tall ship cruise line Star Clippers is planing its first sailings to Grand Cayman and Jamaica starting later this year.

According to a cruise press release, "the line says the 170-passenger Star Flyer will operate a 21-night voyage from Costa Rica to Barbados in November that includes a visit to Grand Cayman as well as Venezuela, Colombia and Panama. The trip includes a transit of the Panama Canal."

When it comes to their Jamaican voyage, Star Clippers said, according to USA Today, "that the Star Flyer will operate a nine-night Caribbean crossing departing from Montego Bay, Jamaica on March 31, 2014 that also includes a stop in Port Antonio, Jamaica. The trip includes calls in the Dominican Republic and British Virgin Islands and ends in St. Maarten."

As for the winter of 2013-14, Star Flyer will be setting out on seven-night roundtrip sailings from St. Maarten. USA Today reports that "the 'Treasure Islands' itinerary out of the port has Anguilla, Virgin Gorda, Norman Island, Tortola, Jost van Dyke, St. Kitts and St. Barts as stops. A second seven-night "Leeward Islands" itinerary has visits to Nevis, Dominica, Iles de Saintes, Guadeloupe, Antigua and St. Barts."

The experience of traveling via Star Clippers is, according to starclippers.com, "much like traveling on a private yacht. You'll never feel confined on Star Clipper or Star Flyer. Each ship offer spacious accommodations and expansive teak decks with ample space and not one, but two swimming pools. In fact, you'll find that these ships offer more outdoor space per passenger than most conventional cruise ships."

The lines second ship, called the 227-passenger Royal Clipper, will also be traveling throughout the Caribbean during the 2013-14 winter months, sailing roundtrip itineraries out of Barbados.

According to the USA Today, "the ship's seven-night "Windward Islands" itinerary features calls at St. Lucia, Dominica, Antigua, St. Kitts, Iles des Saintes and Martinique. A second "Grenadine Islands" itinerary includes calls at the Grenadines, Grenada, Tobago Cays, St. Vincent, Bequia, Martinique and St. Lucia."
