Disney announced the upcoming opening of the Island Tower at Disney's Polynesian Villas and Bungalows. The new tower, part of the Disney Vacation Club property at Disney World Resort, is set to welcome guests in December.
This expansion reflects original designs intended for the resort, featuring a deluxe-level tower overlooking the Seven Seas Lagoon.
Disney to Launch New Polynesian Island Tower This Winter
The 10-story tower will offer a variety of accommodations, from duo studios to one- and two-bedroom villas, including the debut of two-bedroom penthouse villas.
As shared by Travel Weekly, this range in room types allows the tower to cater to guest groups of different sizes, from couples to large families, accommodating between two and nine guests per room. Many of these rooms will provide guests with scenic views of the surrounding lagoon.
Upon arrival, visitors will be greeted by the tower's unique design, which includes an exterior reminiscent of a manta ray. The lobby is highlighted by a striking ceiling art installation featuring panels that depict wildlife from the Polynesian islands.
Each piece of art in the lobby represents values important to Polynesian culture and was created in collaboration with over a dozen artists working alongside Walt Disney Imagineering.
The artwork throughout the property emphasizes environmental themes, with sculptures made from recycled fishing nets and walls adorned with preserved moss. These elements underscore Disney's commitment to conservation and celebrating Polynesian heritage.
Island Tower reservations are set to open on June 6 for all guests, while Disney Vacation Club members and Walt Disney World annual passholders will have early access on June 4 and 5, respectively.
This new addition aims to enhance the guest experience by combining luxury with a deep respect for cultural and environmental sustainability.
