Earth Day on April 22 is no longer just about planting trees. International luxury travel brand, The Evolved Traveler has partnered with Carbonfund.org to commence an ecotourism sweepstake, where one lucky winner will get the chance to fly to Costa Rica for a seven-day eco-tour journey for two to experience The Evolved Traveler's program of promoting the offsetting of carbon footprint in the trips they made.

"The prizes for the sweepstakes will include a two-night stay at Hotel Grano de Oro, four nights at Lapa Rios Lodge, round-trip economy airfare for two from U.S. to San Jose, Costa Rica, domestic flights and ground transportation in Costa Rica, San Jose city tours and select activities at Lapa Rios," told the group to Travelers Today.

If one wants to join the ecotourism sweepstakes, interested people just have to submit their email addresses to CarbonFund.org. Anyone who intends to increase the probability of winning the tour, they can earn five bonus entries if they made a $1 tree-planting donation upon joining this gig offer.

Living green has always been the focus of the group, but the new initiative would let the team behind it take a move more to reduce carbon emissions for ground transportation, and the domestic and international flights taken by The Evolved Traveler guests.

Founder Justin Smith said in a press statement to Travelers Today, "Our ambitious new program and partnership with CarbonFund.org aligns with our mission of bringing about a greater sense of awareness to all aspects of travel, while also working to ensure the health and happiness of our planet for future generations."

The carbon offset also tackles about the wastes resulting from trips in line with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) measures. Calculations from the tour are done with carbon emission calculators from the partner agency and the EPA.

"Sustainability has always been one of the core values of The Evolved Traveler," Smith said. He founded the group as he believes that traveling can be more than just sight-seeing, but that it can evolve into something more.
