Last year was a big year for Sony. The company released PlayStation 4 Slim (PS4 Slim), PlayStation 4 Pro (PS4 Pro), and PlayStation VR, the releases seem pretty recent, but now there have already been talks about a Playstation 5 and here are the things that we know so far.

Some reports say that the PS5 will be available in 2019. Sony has confirmed that the new console is already in the works. According to Techradar, when Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony's Worldwide Studios, was asked about Playstation 5, he said that the question of a PS5 is a question of "if" rather than "when."

Currently, 4K TVs are very popular, and so a new console should be able to support that. Chris Kingsley, CTO, and co-founder of developer Rebellion said that a new hardware should be able to 4K TVs and possibly even 8K TVs at a push.

Trusted Reviews said that fans should expect the PlayStation 5 to offer massive improvement compared to the existing PS4 in terms of raw processing power. 4K gaming is going to be a standard, that's for sure, and Sony will hopefully try to give the system the kind of horsepower that will ensure titles run at a silky smooth 60fps.

Also, fans are expecting that the Playstation 5 will have better support for Virtual Reality. When it comes to price, it definitely will cost more than its predecessor. PS5 is rumored to counter Microsoft's Project Scorpio, which is said to be around $424 to $530. The PS5 is also said to have a feature like the Xbox Kinect - which will definitely make it more expensive.

A fully wireless option would also be nice, many gamers agree. Sony is yet to make an official announcement about the specs and the price. Hopefully, an announcement about the PlayStation 5 will be made this year, or an update at least.
