Since Forbes released its first list of highest-paid comedian in 2006, Jerry Seinfeld has been holding the same spot as the "King of Comedy" for 10 years.
According to Forbes, the Comedy King's combined earnings reached to an astounding amount of $900 million pretax ever since the list started. For the longest time until this year, Jerry Seinfeld has been racking in millions which puts him atop of every comedian in Hollywood.
However, a new funny guy has claimed the title of this year's top-earning comic. From June 2015 to 2016, Kevin Hart made a massive $87.5 million while Seinfeld reportedly earned $43.5 million. Hart also landed sixth place on another list of high earning money-maker list which is Forbes Celebrity 100.
His claim to fame and fortune is a result of non-stop tour schedule of over 100 shows in one year which is about $1 million each show, HNHH reports.
"He is a comedian, of course, but he is drawing crowds that you would typically only see for musician," says Gary Bongiovanni, editor of Pollstar. "Only a few comedians are capable of playing sports arenas the way that Kevin Hart does," the site added.
On top of that, Hart has starred a few movies such as "Central Intelligence" and "Secret Life of Pets", as well as became a celebrity endorser for companies Foot Locker, H&M and Hyundai.
Meanwhile, Amy Schumer made history by being the first woman to make the list and grossing $17 million alongside Hart and Seinfeld. Schumer's millions were a combination of her stand-up tour with Aziz Ansari, her show "Inside Amy Schumer" and a book deal, Variety posted.
Who would've thought that making people laugh and throwing punchlines can make you millions.
