For those traveling to or visiting New York City tonight, be sure to stick around to watch the dazzling fireworks display in celebration of Independence Day. The 4th of July Fireworks will officially start at 9 p.m. in New York City's Hudson River.
The famed Macy's Fireworks display "Ignite the Night" will feature over 40,000 fireworks launched from four barges along the Hudson River. The 25 minute display will be synchronized to tracks chosen by America, including all time favorite "The Star Spangled Banner" and "America the Beautiful."
The best views can be seen at 12th Avenue below W. 59th Street. Access points are:
W. 24th Street
W. 26th through 30th Streets
W. 34th Street
W. 40th through 44th Streets
W. 47th through 52nd Streets
W. 54th through 57th Streets
However, due to overwhelming popularity, viewers are advised to arrive hours before the display. Visitors may not bring deck chairs and will have to stand and hang around before the show starts.
The New York fireworks show will feature performances from Katy Perry and Kenney Chesney and also be broadcast live on NBC.
Don't mistaken that the fireworks display can be seen from Battery Park City or the East River.
