6 Die car hits tree - A powerful crash took the lives of six people along a Dallas roadway late Sunday evening.

The incident dubbed as the 6 die car hits tress happened at around 9:10 p.m. near the intersection of Bonnie View Road and Highland Hills Drive, in the southeast Oak Cliff area.

Multiple reports said that all six victims of the 6 die car hits tree incident were inside the same vehicle - a maroon 2004 Chevrolet Impala.

The Chevy Impala was heading southbound on Bonnie View Road near Persimmon Road past 9:00 p.m. when the vehicle struck a curb with a rear tire. The driver lost control then hit the median on the opposite side of the road, slamming into a tree on the passenger side, the Dallas police said.

Among the deceased are a 20-year-old man who was driving the vehicle, a 21-year-old woman, a 23-year-old woman, a 15-year-old man and a 16-year-old man. The age of the last male victim is not yet known.

According to investigators, alcohol was not a factor in the violent 6 die car hits tree crash although, speed was. The posted speed limit along the stretch of the road is reportedly 40 mph, but a witness told FOX4 that the car was speeding at least 100 mph.

Dallas Independent School District confirmed in a written statement that three of the dead victims of the 6 die car hits tree crash were students at Kimball High School, CBS has learned.

"Grief counselors will be at Kimball and both T.W. Browne Middle School and Daniel Webster Elementary School, where siblings of the victims are enrolled, to help those school communities address this loss," read the 6 die car hits tree statement.
